The Northern Lakes Youth Hockey Association supports and serves youth in the communities of Aitkin, Backus, Breezy Point, Crosby, Crosslake, Deerwood, Ironton, Jenkins, Pequot Lakes and Pine River.

The Northern Lakes Youth Hockey Association works to promote a fun, fair, and safe environment that maximizes participation and improves players' skills while developing sportsmanship, teamwork and self-confidence. These actions will result in a tradition of excellence at the highest level possible, including the high school level as player’s transition from the NLYHA to the next level of play.

The Rialto Theatre was built in 1937 as northern Minnesota's most beautiful and complete movie theatre.  The Rialto boasts much of its original art deco design.

The Rialto has been very special throughout the years. It was a brand new "Movie Palace," which evolved into the Rialto Theatre of today through the hard work, entrepreneurism, and dedication of the past and present owners. This has given us a glimpse into the past and the present. Aitkin will always be special because of it.

Aitkin's performing arts center, housed in a historic building in downtown, is home to the 1903 Hodgeden Opera House and the Butler Marketplace. This grand building is home to numerous businesses including Aitkin Chamber of Commerce, Aitkin County Friends of the Arts, Aitkin Farmers' Market, Central MN Realty, Dena's Dance Company, Midwest Mobility, and Miracle Ear. Performance, wedding, party, and meeting spaces are also available.

Unbound Adventures is an adventure tour and mobile (delivered to you) bike rental company based out of Aitkin, MN. Unbound offers mountain bike tours in the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area (CCSRA) and other nearby mountain biking destinations. Tours include bike rental, a helmet, and a guided ride. We meet you at the trailhead with all the needed supplies and expertise.

Unbound also offers half day, full day or overnight bike rentals within 30 miles of Aitkin, MN. Bikes are delivered to and picked up directly from your home/cabin or the start of your adventure. Mobile kayak rentals coming soon!

We are located in Garrison, Minnesota right across the road from beautiful Mille Lacs Lake! Here at Wilderness, we have everything you could ask for in a campground! There's an inground, well maintained heated pool that is open from Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. There is also a playground, brand new basketball court built in the summer of 2011,  Game Room and much much more!
