The Tour of Opportunities is a 2-day open house for entrepreneurs to view commercial properties for sale and lease in Aitkin and get tools to grow. Take a tour of the properties and join us at the Butler Building to meet business experts, mentors, and lenders that can help you connect the dots between your great idea and a thriving business.
We’ll provide you with a step-by-step checklist to opening a successful business, along with resources to accomplish each step. Your checklist will include insight on writing a business plan, applying for permits, grants, loans, and more.
The Tour of Opportunities will be Friday, April 30 from 4 pm-7 pm and Saturday, May 1 from 11 am-2 pm on the main floor of the Butler Building (301 Minnesota Ave North).
Here’s how it works: Any time during Tour hours, come to the Butler Building to check-in, get your Tour materials, and meet with the experts that can help you. Then, visit properties to see which location might fit best with your plan. As you tour you may find you have more questions specific to a location. If that’s the case, you know where to find us! Our team will be at the Butler Building on both days to answer any questions.
Economic development agencies and lenders at the event include:
Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED)
Small Business Development Center
Aitkin County Growth
Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board (IRRRB)
Security State Bank
Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union
Aitkin Economic Development Authority
